Garden loggia, steps and trough 90
metres south of Harlaxton Manor

Garden loggia, steps and trough. c1838-1844. Probably by
William Burn for Gregory Gregory. Ashlar. Renaissance Revival
decoration. 2 bay rectangular loggia with square columns on
plinth, and plain lintel on scroll brackets. Adjoining the
loggia, a flight of steps with plain balustrade walls and
square pedestals, with 2 landings. Chamfered steps at the
foot. Attached to the retaining wall of the steps, a round
cornered square trough carried on 4 square bases and round
pedestals. Cast iron lion mask spout. Under the loggia, a
chamber containing controls to the water supply. Forms a pair
with the adjoining garden loggia, (qv).
This building appears within Harlaxton Manor Gardens which are
on ther Gardens Register at grade II*.
