WESTONBIRT WITH LASBOROUGH
Westonbirt
THE STREET (north side),
Nos. 7 and 11 (The Old Post Office)

GV
II
Formerly three adjoining cottages, now two. Probably c1854-56 by Lewis Vulliamy as part of the moving and rebuilding of Westonbirt Village by Robert Stayner Holford in preparation for construction of Westonbirt House (qv).

Coursed stone, stone slate roof, stone end and ridge stacks, some of C20. Single long range with rear extensions and projecting gabled wing to right of centre, single storey and attic. Four unevenly sized gables, including projecting wing, with scattered single- or two-light stone mullions with leaded casements and square hoodmould. Ground floor has two projecting porches with steep gables, kneelers and chamfered Tudor arches. Although slightly altered, these cottages are important as part of the rebuilt village group including nos.15-29 (odd), (qv).
