A late C15 to Cl6 timber-framed and plastered house with a cross wing at
the north end. 2 storeys and attics. The upper storey is jettied on curved
brackets with carved capitals, moulded shafts and an embattled bressumer.
The main block has exposed timber-framing and the cross wing is plastered.
The 1st storey windows are 3-light casements with Tudor arched heads and
lattice leaded lights, connected by high level small casements. The ground
storey has been reconstructed in C16 shop style, similar to No 35 and there
is a doorway with carved spandrels. The cross wing was altered in the C18-C19
and has a ground storey of painted brick. The upper storey and the gable
are jettied. 2 window range, double-hung sashes without glazing bars, in
flush cased frames. The attics are lit by a window in the gable. Roofs
tiled, with one flat headed dormer.
Nos 35 to 39 (odd) form a group.
