A C16-C17 timber-framed and plastered building standing on the corner between
St Margaret's Street and Great Coleman Street, with 3 gables angled to the
corner. 2 storeys and attics, the upper storey is jettied on exposed joists
and has exposed timber-framing. The 3 gables have shaped and carved bargeboards.
The windows are all mullioned casements with lattice leaded lights. The
side gables have central 3-light windows flanked by smaller 2-light windows
and the central gable has a 5 light oriel bay window. The attics are lit
by small 2-light windows in the gable. The ground storey has been largely
reconstructed in C16 shop style and much of the detail has been renewed
Roofs tiled. This building has been considerably restored, but some original
features have been preserved and the rest carefully copied.
Nos 35 to 39 (odd) form a group.
