Monument and drinking trough. Dated 1907, erected by public subscription; sculptor L. Fritz Roselieb. Calciferous sandstone with granite dressings, cast bronze plaques and figure. Stepped octagonal grey granite plinth under square sandstone base with angle columns of Shap granite. Each face has sculpted bronze drinking bowls. Sandstone shaft has side bronze plaques of Peace and Temperance, bust of Sir Wilfrid Lawson 1829-1906 and rear inscription. Bronze figure of St George and Dragon; all signed and dated by the sculptor. Horse drinking-trough adjoins at front.
