5.6.58 CHURCH OF ST ANDREW

Church. C11/12 and C13. Flint rubble with tiled roofs. Nave, chancel and
south porch. C11-12 nave with Norman north door, C13 chancel and south porch.
1841 chancel arch and Victorian windows in the south nave wall otherwise the
interior and the rere arches are largely original. Low tower over porch.
Probably late medieval Queen strut roof. Medieval south door. C18 communion
rail, late C16 Stoughton monument; otherwise Victorian fittings and furnishings.
Very plain with few details, but a largely intact building of the early medieval
period.
