Lime kiln. Circa 1847 for Stockton and Darlington Railway Company. 2 builds.
Ashlar sandstone and thin courses of squared sandstone; brick-lined hoppers.
4 kilns in left build, one at right. Front wall of ashlar to height of 4
segmental arches; squared sandstone above. Lower part of arches filled with
thinner courses of stone. Paired arched openings at rear of kilns, obscured or
damaged in the right one which has segmental arch in coursed squared sandstone
wall and is much damaged at time of survey.
