1800 and 1860. The main body of the structure (of 1800) has sides of 5 bays with
rearward additions (carrying a date stone of 1838) mainly of the late C19; a
classical front was attached in 1860. A symmetrical 2-storey stucco facade of
1.3.1 windows, the centre being recessed behind a portico of 2 columns in antis,
the sides having rusticated walling between the inner and outer pilasters. The
Order is Doric, with widely-spaced triglyphs and plain columns. The upper
windows on each side are rectangular, above small arched doorways, each with
voussoirs. The interior wall (of the recessed centre) is in red brick with upper
arched windows and lower square openings; a central doorway, and may be 1860
changes on original 5 window front. The door frame set within a reveal and has a
moulded cornice on brackets. The plain side elevations (in red brickwork,
Flemished bond) have a recessed arcade to each bay, with an arched above a
cambered opening; these windows (and those in the recess of the entrance front)
are of the later period, with arched heads to coupled lights, and a small circular
opening in the spandrel.
