Lead-mine entrance arch. C19. Sandstone ashlar with chamfered quoins.
Wide retaining wall contains round, keyed arch; recessed stone over arch
inscribed F/GB. Top band continuous with quoins.
Historical note: here, in 1875, Major Beaumont demonstrated his newly-invented
Diamond Rock Drill, which was used to cut the level.
