SJ 45 NW CODDINGTON C.P. BEACHINS LANE

4/58 Middle Beachin Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, early C17, cased in brick, probably late C18, and with ad
hoc alterations. Local irregular red-brown brick in English garden
wall bond; grey slate gabled roofs. Double-pile; 2-storey front of
3 windows, 3-storey rear. Wing at right, probably late C18, projects
forwards. Entrance porch, probably early C19; C18 doorcase with
key-pattern cornice on consoles under a gabled roof. 3-light
small-pane replacement windows. Gable chimney at front of right wing;
2 chimneys on each ridge - the right chimney on front ridge (C17) has
ingle-nook fireplace behind lobby entrance.
Interior: The front part has several chamfered oak beams of early C17
type, some stopped, and small-framing (with some wattle-and-daub
exposed) to internal walls. Some 5-panel doors of late Georgian type
and one 2-panel door. Some H-hinges.
