5/57 Coddington Old Rectory

House, formerly Coddington Rectory, rebuilt 1820 (following severe
fire damage), but possibly with earlier structured elements. Brick,
with smooth rendering to verandah and pebbledash to other walls;
double-pile roof of small grey slates has 3 chimneys, one on left
gable. Of 2 storeys; the front has 2 sashes to lower and 5 to upper
storey. Those to lower storey have 12-pane centre-lights and 4-pane
side-lights; those to upper storey are of 9 panes. Hip-roofed
full-length verandah of 9 unequal bays has octagonal timber posts with
small moulded caps. 6-panel door with tall radial-bar fan in
square-headed, moulded case of wood. Small-pane sashes to ends and
rear.
Interior: Doors with 6 fielded panels. Shutters in window
embrasures. Dog-leg stair has reeded balusters and mahogany rail with
curtail.
