Formerly Mistress Close. This is a cottage on the banks of a stream, in the
grounds of the former Rookery, (demolished in 1968) an C18 building which
was the birthplace of Thomas Malthus, the economist. Timber-framed cottage
refaced with painted brick but the timbering with painted brick infilling
visible in the west wall. Stringcourse. Tiled roof. Casement windows of
early C19 design with pointed heads to the panes. 2 storeys. 3 windows.
