Farmhouse with buildings attached to NE (Formerly a pair of cottages). C1730;
the cottages, C1820 rubble sandstone and brick, all rendered with stone slab
gable-end roof (felted). Internal end stacks. Plan: single room to either
side of central entrance passage, with integral rear outshut under catslide
roof containing central stairs, and services. Front: symmetrical 3-window
range; doorway with moulded surround and shaped keystone, flanked by 3-light
casement windows with glazing bars, under plain keystones. One 2-light and two
3-light casement windows to first floor without keystones. Right return with
modern door, and a small Yorkshire sash window. Rear: scattered
fenestration, all casements and frames, C20 in openings of varied sizes.
Interior: some planked and panelled doors with strap and H-hinges; turned
baluster dog-leg stair (partly concealed but apparently intact); original
dairy in outshut with slate fittings; side-purlin roof. Attached to the
house to the right and set well back is a pair of single-cell Labourers'
cottages (converted to farm use) with casement windows and planked doors. The
later farm buildings form a group with the house and cottages.
