Church. C14, altered and modified C18/C19. Granite rubble stone and red brick
with stone dressings Welsh slate roof with small brick ridge stack. N W tower,
nave and chancel under one roof, S church room, and N porch. C14 tower of granite
rubble stone, of two stages with small C18 W window, door over in probably original
W window frame, four 2-light bell openings (with clock face over E), gargoyles
battlements and weathervane. Inside, the tower cuts into the nave N W corner.
At its side a C18 Gothick W window. The nave and chancel are a single rectangular
space with flat plastered ceiling. Three N windows, one small and C18, the
other two with C19 Reticulated tracery and C19 and C20 stained glass (First
World War memorial window). Two E windows with C19 Reticulated tracery and
stained glass. Blocked E door and stone coped brick E gable. Brick dentilled
band across over rubble stone below and clock face in gable. C19 wooden screen
separates nave and chancel. C19 wooden reredos with altarpiece of the Last
Supper. Three small, probably C18, S windows and blocked narrow window. S
door leads to C19 lean-to church room. Narrow SE gabled projection housing
organ. C19 stone and wooden N porch with plain tile roof. Two buttresses with
set-offs to N and similar diagonal buttresses to chancel. Inside are late C18
and early C19 wall monuments, C19 font and pulpit. Pevsner.
