Pair of fireman's houses. 1912. By Coales and Johnson for Market
Harborough Urban District Council. Red brick in English bond with
ashlar limestone quoins and band; plain tile roofs. 2 storeys, 2
windows to first floor; reflected pair with doors at centre. Large
quoins to left; the right end bonded into The Old Fire station (q.v.).
Original panelled and part-glazed doors with 4-pane overlights beneath
shared canopy supported on shaped wooden brackets and suspended on
scrolled iron stays. Projecting sills and segmental brick arches to
ground-floor windows linked by flush impost band: number 12 has 12-
pane sash whilst number 14 has UPVC facsimile. First floor: square-
headed 3-light casement with glazing bars to number 12, matching UPVC
casement to number 14. The windows rise into a pair of gables with
dentilled verges. Corniced upstand to quoins on left; end stacks.
