SY 49 NW WHITCHURCH CANONICORUM STOKE MILL LANE

3/177 Stoke Mill House

G.V. II

Mill house and Mill, now one house. c 1800. Mill formerly at south end, with
mill wheel on south gable wall, formerly. Coursed rubble-stone walls. Slate
roof with tiled ridge. Brick stacks at left hand gable and left of centre.
Front wall has change of angle (convex). 2 storeys. 4 windows, irregular,
mainly 3 - light casements with horizontal glazing bars, and wooden cills.
Front door at left, narrow planks with 4 glass panels. Stone porch with a
semi-circular head under a pentice slate roof. Former door to mill, now C20,
with 2 long glass panels and a pitched canopy over. Interior: large open
fireplace with stone jambs and a wooden lintel over.
