Corporation Water Department. Brick with ashlar dressings.
Square plan. Battered square base with ashlar coping. Shaft has
moulded centre pilasters and corner pilasters, 2 small
dentillated string courses. Dentillated main cornice. Above, on
each side, a C13 style triple lancet with iron grille, round
shaft and carved capital. Truncated pyramid finial with 4
corniced pinnacles with pyramid caps. Approx. 120 ft. high.
This building is a detached ancillary building of Papplewick
Pumping Station. This is now a working museum cared for by the
Papplewick Pumping Station Trust.
