House, now Labour Party offices. Early C18 and late C20. Brick
with plain tile roof. Ashlar dressings. Chamfered plinth,
rusticated quoins, dentillated eaves cornice, coped gables. 3
gable stacks. 3 storeys, 4 bays. ].-plan. Windows are glazing
bar sashes with splayed wavy keystoned lintels. East front has
off-centre door with overlight and bargeboarded C20 hood on
brackets. To left 2 and to right single sashes. Concrete and
bronze memorial plaque inscribed "In this house was born 25
October 1802 Richard Parkes Bonington, Artist". Above, 4
sashes. Above again, 4 smaller sashes. To left, late C20
additions, single storey, 3 bays. North gable has to right,
cellar opening and above it, a single sash on each floor. To
right again, large late C20 single storey addition.
