Terraced town house in short west arm of street. c1700-1704 with early C19
alterations, as part of the original Queen Square development. Brown brick with
stuccoed ground floor, slate roof. 3 storeys, basement and dormered mansard. 5
windows wide including 2 blind windows. Early to mid C19 enclosed stucco porch
with archivolt arched opening, cornice and blocking course. Recessed and flush
framed glazing bar sashes, those on upper floors with flat gauged red brick
arches and the ground and 1st floor windows with carved stone mask keystones.
Stone plat bands to 1st and 2nd floors; parapet with coping. Wrought iron area
railings with urn finials. Panels of early C18 lead rainwater cisterns fixed to
walls. Interior retains elements of original panelling and good original
staircase with cut and carved string and 3 twisted balusters per tread, etc.
Part of an exceptional group of Queen Anne houses.
