House. c1813'by Thomas Hardwick as curate's house for his St John's Wood
Chapel, now Church of St John the Baptist, St John's Wood Road q.v. and set in
corner of former burial ground. Stock brick; slate roof concealed. 3 storeys
and basement. 3 windows wide with 4-window blind east return, to St John's Wood
High Street, and mid C20 west entrance wing. Blind arcade to ground floor with
semicircular arched recessed sashes with glazing bars radiating to heads (blind
window to left). Recessed glazing bar sashes under flat gauged arches to upper
floors (blind to left on 1st floor). Stucco impost blind to arcade; brick plat
band over ground floor and parapet with stone coping.
