Villa, c.1827 by John Nash (the upper storey entirely rebuilt and addition made be Lutyens c.1909); the only villa in the Park personally designed by Nash, for Sir Robert Arbuthnot. Stucco; slate roof. The villa is approached by drive from Park Road and main front faces Outer Circle. Grecian design with Ionic portico-loggia. 2 storeys. 5 windows wide with 2-window slightly recessed south extension. Park front has central, one storey, tetrastyle Ionic columned loggia (now glazed-in) with entablature and blocking course. Recessed sashes in shallow architraves. Plinth; 1st floor plat band and cornice below parapet. Additions for Bedford College not of special interest.
