42-/8/10003 Anglican Chapel

II

Anglican burial chapel. c1855. Knapped flint and stone
dressings with roof of slate having ornamental crestings. Nave
and sanctuary under one roof; entrance porch projecting from
ritual northwest and vestry from the south to form a T plan.
Gothic Revival style. Subordered entrance in west elevation
with pair of two-light Decorated windows above. Carved corbel
between support an attached rib that terminates in an uncarved
block. Three-light Decorated window to ritual east with
tracery head; two-light windows with trefoil heads to nave.
Setback buttresses at corners and marking bays. Each gable end
with stone coping and gable cross. Plank doors and metal
hinges of original designs. Forms a pair with the
Nonconformist chapel to the north.
