Terraced town house. c1774-80 rebuild. Stock brick, slate roof. 5 storeys and
basement. 3 windows wide. Fine doorway to right with elegant shallow porch of
fluted slender Doric columns, dosserets and mutule cornice, the entablature
returned into the semicircular arched opening, recessed for one order and with
archivolt arched fanlight above the porch cornice. Recessed sashes under flat
gauged arches. 1st floor plat band; dentil cornice over 2nd floor; brick
"triglyph" frieze below parapet coping. 3-window canted bay to rear St James's
Park elevation with cast iron balconies. Interior has deep narrow plan with one
full width room to front and to back on 1st floor separated by central top lit
stairwell; fine geometrical stone staircase rising on semicircular niche plan
with delicate wrought iron S pattern balustrade; delicate neo-classical
plasterwork to 1st floor ceilings and marble chimneypieces etc. See also
