II

Monument. Possibly c.1800. Coursed stone rubble. Rectangular-plan base,
plinth with simple 'mouldings' of projecting courses. Recess to north-east
face, possibly for inscribed panel. Short rectangular plan obelisk. History
unknown but possibly built by James King of Finsthwaite House, who built the
nearby Pennington Lodge Tower (q.v.).
