SO 33 NW TURNASTONE CP -

3/124 Rose Cottage

Cottage. Probably late C17 to early C18 with later extensions. Timber-
frame, partly cased in brick, brick extension, stone slate roof, external
stack with bread oven and detached brick shaft to north gable end. Two-
bay, 2 -cell cottage extended one bay south in mid-C19. One storey and
attic. East elevation, rebuilt in brick has two 2-light early C20 metal
casements under segmental heads, one either side of entry; door to C19
brick extension is contemporary with it and ledged. First floor has wide
gabled dormer with 4-light metal early C20 casement to left of main entry.
Rear elevation to west is timber-framed; C19 part has mock framing painted
on brickwork. Frame is 3 panels high from low cill to wall-plate; two
symmetrically placed C20 2-light metal casements under timber weatherings
to ground floor. North gable has heavily jowled post to north-west corner.
