GLASS COURT DRIVE
Pair of lodges flanking the entrance to Glass Court Drive, Tunnel entrance and Wall

Pair of lodges, tunnel entrance and wall. Mid C18 and mid C19.
Ashlar. Each lodge is C18, probably by J. James, and has an
embattled parapet with moulded band under hiding the roof.
Single central stack. Set on a plinth. Rectangular plan.
Single storey, single bay. With single projecting bay to each
side. Doorway with double wooden door and arched overlight with
single central cusp, with raised band around all rising to an
ogee arch with finial. The rear face has a single similarly
arched glazing bar sash in similar surround. Flanking the road
side bay are single quatrefoil fixed lights. To the rear of the
left/west lodge is a rusticated and coped C19 wall terminating in
the C19 tunnel entrance. Set on a plinth with panelled parapet
and impost bands. Central single large carriage archway in
rusticated surround with shaped voussoirs and keystone anddouble
wooden door. A moulded band runs over. Flanked by single
pilasters topped with single urns. Running from the right is a
single rusticated and coped wall. Set on a plinth and
terminating in a single coped pilaster surmounted by an orb.
