Uniform terrace houses. c.1732 by John Meard. Brown stock brick with red brick
dressings, stuccoed ground floor, slate roof. 4 storeys, and basement. Each front 3
windows wide with wider piers to party walls between Nos. 1 and 3 and 5 and 7.
Mock-jointed stucco ground floor up to 1st floor sill band. Doorways to left and right
on Nos. 1 and 7 and paired between Nos. 3 and 5; wooden architrave doorcases flanked
by thin panelled strips and boldly carved consoles supporting cornice - hoods, 6
panel door and rectangular fanlights, panelled key blocks rising to cornice bed
moulds. Flush framed sashes with later C19 glazing in red brick dressings under flat
gauged red brick arches. Parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings with urn
finials. Interiors fully panelled on conventional passage hall dog leg staircase
plan with closet wing. Nos. 3 and 5 have mirror plan; Doric pilasters frame opening
from passage to stairwell, open string carved tread ends to stairs with Doric turned
balusters and newels; box cornice etc, See also the contemporary Nos. 67 to 70 Dean
