Symmetrical terrace of houses. 1791, considerable amount of refacing
(probably after 2nd World War). Stock brick, slate roofs. 3 storeys and
dormered mansards except for No. 14 with full attic storey. 2 window wide
fronts except Nos. 14 and 25 of 3 windows wide. Ground floor with mid C.19
shop fronts, many altered mid C.20. No. 20 has patterned fanlight to right
hand doorway flanked by carved consoles. Upper floors have recessed
glazing bar sashes under flat gauged arches. 2nd floor sill band; block
bracketed stone cornice below parapet (missing on Nos. 17 and 19) is formed
into pediment over No. 18 with stone tablet inscribed "NEW LISLE STREET
MDCCXCI" in brick tympanum. No. 27 retains original cornet lead rainwater
head. Interiors little altered apart from ground floors with simple dog
leg staircases with column newels, moulded cornices etc.
