II
Farmhouse: dated 1609 with later Cl7 addition in stone and C20
alterations and additions. Majority timber-framed on ashlar and
rubble plinth, remainder in coursed squared buff sandstone rubble.
Purple tile roof and 2 brick chimneys. Long rectangular plan,
developing from 2-room gable entry into cross-passage. 1½ storey, 4
bay east front. Left 2 bays project and are C20 extensions.
Remainder has 8 by 2 timber small frames with angle bracing of wall
plate and has 2 2-light casements and an added gabled dormer. West
front has roof raised and cement rendering, but right end shows rubble
walling.
Interior: Has reset_wooden door lintel carved with RD 1609. Entry by
heck post and screen with chamfered ceiling beams. Parlour beyond has
a weakly ovolo-moulded ceiling beam.
