Probably circa 1820, formerly part of the Old Globe Inn complex. The building formed
part of a bridge head development which included Nos 2 and 4 Bridge Street, Nos 1 and
104 Northbrook Street. Three storeys. Three window front. Slate hipped roof.
Stucco with projecting cornice and blocking course. Recessed sash windows with
glazing bars. Mid C20, 3 bay, Neo-Georgian stone bank front with ¾ columns and
pilasters at each end carrying entablature; bow windows with small panes. Lower
entrance extension at north end using former bridge shelter of 1769-72 as doorway
(see Bridge). In 1820 Mr King refronted the Old Globe Inn in stucco with classical
detailing. The main part of the Inn was demolished 1868.
