Engine house, remains of. Mid-Cl9. Roughly coursed slate stone and granite,
now roofless. Rectangular plan. 2 storeys. Round-headed opening to south-east
end; other openings mutilated and partly ivy clad. Remains of subsidiary
buildings attached to either side. Associated earthworks and shafts. Formed
part of the Kithill Consols mining complex, which continued in operation
until late C19 and was primarily concerned with tin extraction.
