Mine waste heap terraced circa 1880 as part of the amenities of the spa and health
resort of William Dingle (qv. Kithill Castle). Terraced mound with granite rubble
retaining walls extending in a spiral. Remains of circular building at summit with
granite rubble walls of approximately 1 metre in height, used as viewing house or
tea room for Dingle's spa and health resport. For late C19 and early C20
illustrations see Lightbody (p.105) and Venning (p.73). Owner also in possession of
photograph taken in the 1920s.
