Circa 1850-40 similar pair of red brick semi-detached villas. Hipped slate
roof, flat eaves. Three bays each, glazing bar sashes, intact, on sill band
to first floor. Ground floor in both cases has addition of circa 1900 rectangular
bay windows with wood casements. Six panel doors centred to each front up
flight of steps, the flattened column frames contained in reveals with radial
glazed fanlights above entablatures. No 217 has an ornate cast iron porch
with square plan openwork standards of superimposed balusters rising between
leaf decorated shafts; vase pattern to balcony railings above.
