Formerly known as: Ferres Hospital PRINCE'S DOCK STREET.
Former Ferres Hospital almshouses, now offices. Designed 1822,
by John Earle, with late C19 alterations. Brick with painted
ashlar dressings and hipped slate roof with 2 ridge
stacks. Plinth, ground-floor lintel band, first-floor sill
band, moulded cornice and blocking, projecting centre, 3
windows, with pediment containing a sculptured crest and
trophy. 2 storeys; 5-window range of 12-pane sashes with brick
flat arches. Central doorcase with pairs of Roman Doric
pilasters mutule cornice and blocking with the inscription
"Roland House" flanked by anthemions. Moulded 6-panel double
door, with flanking lights between the pilasters. On either
side, single segment-headed tripartite glazing bar sashes.
Beyond, to right, a similar sash. To left, a similar opening
with a 6-panel margin-stile door with sidelights and
toplights.
