GV II

House. Early C17. Timber-framed, rendered and colourwashed.
Formerly jettied at first floor to front and rear, but now
underbuilt. 7 bays to frame, but only 5 now apparent as window
bays on exterior. Lobby entrance plan. Door right of centre
with 2 C18 sashes with glazing bars right, and one left.
Carriage entrance to rear at south end of elevation. First
floor lit through 5 3-light C18 casements. Brick ridge stack
over door. INTERIOR. Ground Floor: The stack has an arch cut
through to form passage, and the fireplaces rebuilt.
Plain-stopped chamfered bridging beams. South room with an
early C19 cupboard in rear wall, probably formerly a window.
First Floor: Rear wall retains 4-light diamond-mullioned
casement with C20 glazing. Roof of principals, 2 tiers butt
purlins and collars. Many of the collars are renewed.
