Farmhouse. Early C17 with C19 alterations and additions.
Coursed squared gritstone with ashlar dressings, coped gables,
central ridge stack and gable stacks to additions, Welsh
slated and stone slated roofs, and corrugated sheeting. South
elevation: house part of two storeys and three bays with lower
single-bay offshut to either end. Former central baffle-entry
plan, now altered to give end-entry in former window position.
Blocked central doorway, now infilled, with rough quoined
surround, with upper part of doorway widened to accommodate
2-light horizontal sliding sash window, each light of 4 panes.
Window to east of doorway of 2 lights, formerly 4-light, with
recessed chamfered mullions, now with all but central mullion
removed: all beneath drip mould with label stops. Former
window of matching size and detail infilled and amended to
form C19 doorway with plain plank door with central glazed
light. 2-light chamfered mullioned windows, formerly 3-light,
to first floor end bays, with 4-paned window frames, sashes
and fixed lights. Central single window in moulded frame above
blocked doorway to centre. Single lower bay to east end with
quoined ground-floor doorway, and a flight of stone steps to
first-floor doorway. Rectangular window to first floor with
metal small-paned window. Single lower bay to west with
stacked stone-framed windows. C19 sash to first floor. C20
top-vent window to ground floor. Blocked 3-light chamfered
mullioned window to east gable apex. Rear elevation with
offshut to west bay beneath catslide roof. Small fire window
to central stack, and inserted C18 and C19 openings.
INTERIOR: exposed spine beams and joists. C17 hearth with
inserted C19 range.
