Pair of houses. 1853. By Charles Reed. Brick with stone
dressings and Welsh slate roof. Simple Italianate style. 2
storeys, 6-window range with side entrances in projecting
porches with shallow wings recessed behind. Hipped slightly
advanced outer gables each with bay window with interlace
circle decoration to parapet, and tripartite sash window
above. Paired 4-pane sash windows to each dwelling in central
range, with stressed keystones linking to cornice over. End
wall and axial stacks. The houses form part of the original
development at Claughton, laid out by Reed for Sir William
Jackson during the 1840's and 1850's.
