Langton House plaque. Early C19 house in Flemish bond red brick with some dark headers. Eaves cornice on paired modillions. Slate roof. Sash windows with glazing bars and gauged brick lintels, those of the ground floor imitating raised key blocks, so meant to be painted. Inset panelled door with moulded hood on brackets. A decorative brick band, three deep, at the level of the doorhead. The size of the bricks changes from the slender shape used in the 18th century to a larger one. The change happens at the top of the first floor window frames, and is marked by a course of headers. (Photo Apr 2014).
