A probable 12th century church was enlarged in the 14th with the rebuilding of the nave and inclusion of a north aisle. Additional enlargement occured during the 15th century with the addition of a south aisle, tower and chancel.
In the 19th century, further construction incorporated the organ chamber, vestry and the south porch.
