House. Late C17 with late C18 alterations. Limestone rubble with stone
slate roof. Two storeys with attic. Main range aligned north/south, with
wing projection on east side. East wall of main range has canted bay window
on stone base, under slated canopy which extends over doorway at left. First
floor window is sashed with glazing bars and plain reveals. The door has a
re-dressed chamfered surround with Tudor-arched head. The gable wall of the
wing, at the left, has breaks in the stone coursing which suggest reconstruction.
The north wall of the wing has a timber casement window on the ground floor
with leaded glazing, and an attic dormer. Chimneys to right of main range
and on gable of wing. South wall of wing has a one-light rebated and chamfered
window to the right of a door, and an enlarged window to the left within a
rebated and chamfered surround. The gable to the main range, to the left,
has a doorway on the ground floor within a rebated and chamfered window with
hood. On the first floor is a window with plain reveals and hood. The attic
has a 3-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window. Interior: north room
of main range has stone fireplace with chamfered surround and canted head,
partly reconstructed in the C20. The main beam is chamfered with lamb's
tongue stops. The wing has an inglenook fireplace with bressummer and bread
oven. On the first floor a partition wall between the main range and wing is
framed in square panels. In the attic of the main range are exposed oak purlins
and trusses truncated at collar level.
