Detached house, formerly used as an inn and a post office. Mid - late C17,
possibly a remodelling of an earlier building. Rubble with freestone dressings
and a thatched roof. L-plan gabled vernacular farmhouse. 2 storeys with a
steep coped gable to the right. 3 bays: 2-light casement windows in ovolo
moulded mullions and surrounds and under dripmoulds; one 3-light wooden casement
in east gable; C20 casements to left. Off-centre projecting porch with a
thatched roof. Interior. Cross passage with former service end to left
(rebuilt) and hall and parlour to right. The hall has ovolo moulded beams,
fireplace surround and doorframes, with stops. First floor room to right has
ovolo moulded lintel to fireplace and a spice cupboard. Extended collar beam
trusses.
