Originally the smithy. C16 timber-framed and plastered building, possibly a cross-
wing to an earlier building, with an early C18 range added to the south. Local red
brick, with painted brick street facade. Plain tile roof hipped to the north with
end stack and parapet gable to the south. Ridge stack. L-plan, 2 storeys. Restored,
the windows are all C19 and C20 insertions. Three first floor casement windows,
2 ground floor hung sash windows with side lights and one horizontal sliding sash to
the north. Half-glazed 6 panelled door, and stable door. Band between floors and
brick plinth. Interior has an original inglenook hearth, chamfered ceiling beams
and some C17 panelling.
