Description

HAREWOOD CP
SO 52 NW
3/45 Grange Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Possibly C17, with later alterations. Timber-frame and
squared sandstone rubble, finished in render and weatherboards, tiled
roofs, two brick stacks and one external gable-end stack with brick
shaft. L-plan with main range aligned north-east/south-west and wing
projecting towards north-west from north end. Two storeys. West elevation
has three windows, early C19 casements, one of two lights to centre of main
range flanked by a pair of three lights, ground floor has two similar 3-light
casements, one to each side of roughly central 6-panelled early C19 door under
a gabled canopy; unfenestrated gable front to left has external stack.
Rear elevation to east has mid-C20 weatherboarding. Interior noted as
having exposed timber-framed walls and heavy ceiling beams. Grange Farm
is probably the home farm to the demolished Harewood Park.
