House, now 2. C17. Long 2 storey timberframed plastered.
Longer S part has higher roof, tiled and gabled. 2 windows and
asymmetrical front to W. Flush box sashes, C19 with 6/6 panes on
Ground floor flanking low 4-panel door with dripboard over. Tall
4/4 paned upper windows break through string course as if eaves
raised. Remains of panelled pargetting. Modern external corner
gable chimney and modern weatherboarding on S end. Large axial
central chimney shared with N end (Old Post Office Cottage). 2
storeys, 2 windows. Steep old red tile roof. Modern N gable
external stack and rear extension. Small paned modern casement
windows, single storey weatherboarded rear storage range.
Interior has exposed oak timbers and large red brick fireplace.
Formerly the laundry cottage for Twyford House. C19 cast iron
pump with domed cap 10 yards E of No 4.
