Primary school. 1957. Nottinghamshire County Council. Steel
frame with some horizontal precast concrete panels, decorative
tile-hung panels and vertical timber boarding beneath the
classroom windows. Low pitched roof to hall; flat roofs to the
classrooms. Hall fully glazed to front (4 main bays of glazing
with 3 subdivisions each) and with decorative tile-hung
gables. Classrooms with deep strip windows and narrow solid
panels beneath and above. Timber window frames. Hall and
dining rooms opening into each other, the latter lower.
Classrooms compactly arranged on L plan. The first school
constructed on what became known as the CLASP system.
