GV II

House. C16 and C17 timberframed with mid/late C18, W front
range. Plastered with slate mansard roof on W, old red tile on
rear N part. 2 storeyed front has central, Doric porch with 3/4
columns, fluted frieze and dentilled cornice. 3 windows of 6/6
sashes with louvred shutters. S garden front has similar sash
windows, but with fluted friezes and dentil cornices to Ground
floor. C20 canted E extension, also 6/6 sashes. N elevation has
large, early C17 chimneystack with attached shafts. This part
was open hall, floored over in C17, having chamfered and stopped
floor beams and exposed, sooted tie beam to upper floor. Ground
floor fireplace with triangle-headed niches. Good C18 interior
to S Ground floor with fluted dado, door and main friezes. Re-
used oak panelling to front hall.
