Lodge house. Early C19,probably built for Henry Duncombe. Ashlar, grey
slate roof. 2 storeys, 2 bays, the right bay projecting to form an L-plan.
Left-hand bay has 4-panel door left, with 20-pane sash to right. The door
and a window under a long, flat roofed porch supported by paired and single
Tuscan columns with entablature, deep moulded cornice and blocking course.
The windows are 20-pane sashes throughout, all set back in rectangular
recesses. First-floor band, moulded eaves cornice and guttering; moulded
pediments to east, north and south gables. Tall corniced ridge stack,
centre. The yard wall on the west side has a flat coping at sightly lower
level than the first-floor band. The building is enclosed by the walling
which flanks the gate piers (qv).
