House, Late C17, with later alterations. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled stone
slate roof; stone end and internal stacks. L-plan extended in C19 to
double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; 4-window range. Mid C18 six-panelled
door set in moulded wood architrave with bracketed open pediment. Timber lintel
over late C19 tripartite sashes on ground floor. On first floor, chamfered
timber lintels over late C17 two-light casements with leaded-lights and keyed
round-arched heads. 3 gabled roof dormers with 2-light leaded casements, Rear:
3-storey wing to left has early C19 six-pane sashes and shallow-pitched Welsh
slate roof. 2-storey bay to right rebuilt in c.1840 chequer brick. Rear porch
has reset early C16 two-light moulded stone-mullioned round-arched window.
Interior: mid C18 china closet to left. Early C18 dog-leg with landing
staircase, reset in late C19, has turned balusters on closed string. Room to
right has reset decorative carved overmantle dated 1593, with fluted pilasters.
Cased beams, bolection-moulded panelled doors and collar-truss roof with butt
purlins.
