House, now office and 2 dwellings. Late C17; later alterations. Squared and
coursed limestone; gabled stone slate roof; C17 stone ridge and left end stacks.
2-unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Timber lintels
over central C20 door and late C19 panelled door in left bay; C20 shop front and
door to right. Timber lintel over late C19 three-light ground-floor casement on
first floor, timber lintels over late C17 cross windows with leaded lights (to
left) and 2 late C18 six-pane sashes. Two gabled roof dormers with late Cl9
two-light casements. C18 two-light leaded casement to rear. Late C17 two-storey
rear right wing, of similar materials, has two 3-light wood-muilioned windows;
No.27A to rear, of similar materials with half-hipped roof and C20 door and
windows. Interior: No.27 to right has chamfered bean and mid C19 fireplace on
first floor; No.25 to left has chamfered beams and winder stairs. Collar-truss
roof with butt purlins. No.27A noted as having chamfered beads.
