Limekiln. Probably late C18 or early C19. Local slate and probably
limestone rubble. Circular on plan set into the bank at the rear. At the
front there is a pointed arch opening (the swallow) corbelled inside with
the kiln stoking hole at the back. There is a low parapet around the top
which is level with the higher ground at the back for top loading. The
Limekiln is situated near the shore of the river Dart estuary.
